Surf in Vietnam
Vietnam has over 2,500km of coast and peppered along it line are some seriously awesome places to surf. Picture a perfect left coming down and empty lineup and a fishing village to stay in and eat and drink with the locals, a right that’s hollow as can be with crystal clear water and a reef underneath 50 meters from a left that is much the same but twice the size and an idyllic beach with freshwater creek to camp.

As well as all the secret spots around the area there are 3 major surf cities in Vietnam: Danang, Nha Trang, and Mui Ne. Surf Da Nang, Nha Trang, Mui Ne
These 3 cities hold the heart of surfing in Vietnam. Mui Ne has a longer history of surfing and watersports particularly kite boarding as it is a world famous wind location. Nha Trang has the newest community of the three and has some epic surf spots close by and in town. But for us at LST Surf Danang takes trump.
There quite a are a few reasons for this. Danang is the most laid back and nicest of the 3 places to live. It is a bigger city with all the things you could need yet the beach community is on the corner of town, and it feels like a nice friendly small town. Danang also picks up more swell than the other 2 aforementioned cities. more waves are directly equal to more funs. Danang has its own groups of fairly close waves that work much more consistently than do the southern waves. So easy It is easy to get to and surf some different spots when the waves are there but not epic. And of course, when an epic swell event is coming one can still mobilize and make it anywhere along the coast to catch a swell if they want, north, south, or central, plus My Khe beach pumps.
