What is a Surf Lesson with LST?
A surf lesson with LST is a great way to spend part of your day on the beach, in the water, having fun.
As well as learning to surf you will be able to connect with locals and learn things about Danang, Vietnam, and the surrounding area.
Our lessons are individually booked meaning the instructor is solely there for you or your personal group, so you get the most out of the lesson.
If you’re new to surfing, don’t worry! Our detailed, hands-on instruction will have you on your feet and riding waves in your first surf lesson.
Our quality is in our instruction and lesson format. We guarantee a full lesson of personal training from the beach to water – unlike cheaper surf lessons that just give instruction on beach.
With our surf lessons, you are never left alone!
Where is LST Surf Located?
LST Surf shop is located Near the An Thuong tourist area in Danang, Vietnam.
We are just 100 meters from My Khe beach and Holiday beach where most surfing in Danang is done. It is also the perfect place to have your lesson!
With beginner waves, relaxed ocean currents, and lifeguards on duty, My Khe beach is safe for our surf students.
Though we recommend surf lessons on My Khe beach, we are able travel further away to Hoi An or anywhere in between for your convenience!

Who are Surf Lessons for?
Surf Lessons are for everyone, from beginners to experts, perfect for anyone who wants to improve!
From kids to the elderly, anyone can learn and then go surfing. Though learning to surf is a journey., and it takes a long time and a lot of effort, we are here for you every step of the way!
For those who have never surfed before, we offer all-inclusive lessons that teach all of the basics, provide hands on instruction, and the opportunity to practice in order to begin the mastery of a new skill.
For those who have surfed a few times but want to improve more quickly, we offer surf- along lessons, where we paddle out together and the coach will aid you with positioning, wave reading, and technical maneuvering skills.
For those who are advanced surfers, completely comfortable in the water and want to improve their skills, we offer coaching in the water and on the land with feedback film review, and advanced skill practice. you can also always come practice in the skate bowl.
And if you really don’t want a surf lesson and just want to come rent a surfboard that’s fine too.
Who are your Surf Coaches?
Tan, Kusan, and Rhys; the owners of LST Surf and the rest of the team Are all experienced Surf coaches who have been Surfing at a high level and teaching surfing at all levels for Years.
They are all dedicated to Surfing and spreading the stoke to anyone interested in learning. Genuine connections are something that everyone values and are part of the LST experience.

Why Learn to Surf in Danang with LST?
LST has been doing surf lessons in Danang for 7 years. Our surf instructors are all experienced surfers as well as coaches. When you do a surf Lesson with us you know you are learning to surf from someone who really knows their stuff.
We are longtime members of the Danang surf community and are always trying to build stronger connections and skills with our ‘Local Surf Team‘ and Danang as a whole.
We focus on building local surfing bonds and providing excellent service to our customers.
What is Included in our Surf Lesson?
Pretty much everything is included in your surf Lesson with LST. The only things you will need are a swimsuit and a towel if you want one. Everything else is provided.

Surf Lesson Itinerary
The surf lesson structure will very slightly, depending on what level of surfer you are and how many lessons you have already done. below is an outline for first time surfers, though the general format is the same for all lessons. We typically Begin our Surf Lessons at 9am or 3 pm every day. We can however arrange another time for your convenience.
Example of a Surf Lesson 9:00 am - 11:00 am
- 9:00 am
Meet at the shop. Get changed, apply sunscreen, load boards get ready to go.
- 9:10 am
Drive to the beach.
- 9:15 am
Begin surf lesson on the beach. This includes a walkthrough of techniques, safety briefing, and the teaching and practicing of new skills.
- 9:30 am
Enter the water with your surf coach and have hands on instruction and detailed care for the entire time you are in the water. The surf instructor will offer feedback after each wave and create a fully custom experience insuring you learn as quick as possible while still having fun.
- 10:30 am
Leave the water load up the bikes and return to the shop.
- 10:40 am
Unload, shower, change, and break down the lesson with your coach.
- 11:00 am
Surf lesson is complete. Say farewells and enjoy the rest of the day!
How Much do Surf Lessons Cost?
- 2 hour Surf Experience (1-4 PAX) ₫1,000,000 ~ $40
Our Surf lessons are always either 1 on 1 or booked as your own private group. If you are booking as a private group the amount of instructors varies depending on wave size but is typically about 1 instructor for every 2 people. Photography/ videography service can be added for 200k per person. The price given is price per person per lesson, and our lessons are charged in VND with the USD value being approximate.
- 2 hour Surf Experience (5-9 PAX) ₫900,000 ~ $36
if you are a group of 5-9 people and you all want to book a 2 hour surf experience the surf lesson will be the same as listed above. Depending on conditions you will have 1 coach for each 2-3 people.
- 2 hour Surf Experience (10+ PAX) ₫800,000 ~ $32
if you are in a group of 10 or more people and you all want to book a 2 hour surf experience the surf lesson will be the same as listed above. Depending on conditions you will have 1 coach for each 2-3 people.
- From 5 to 9 Surf Lessons ₫900,000 ~ $36
if you are around town for a while and keen to improve your surfing you can book multiple lessons. Each lesson will be tailored to maximize your improvement and get you to become a skilled and confident surfer as quickly as possible. Book and pay in advance to receive discount lesson price. The price given is price per person per lesson, and our lessons are charged in VND with the USD value being approximate.
- 10 or more Surf Lessons ₫800,000 ~ $32
if you are in town for even longer and really dedicated to improving your surfing you can book multiple lessons. As above Each lesson will be tailored to maximize your improvement and get you to become a skilled and confident surfer as quickly as possible. Book and pay in advance to receive discount lesson price. The price given is price per person per lesson, and our lessons are charged in VND with the USD value being approximate.
- Additional Photography/Videography Service ₫200,000 ~ $10
Photography and videography can be added to any lesson. The price given is price per person per lesson. for groups the fee will be applied to everyone and cannot be added individually.
When Can we Go Surfing?
LST offer surf Lessons Every day. We Typically go surfing at 9am or 3pm each day, but we can arrange a lesson for any time that fits your schedule.
Surf Lessons are also weather dependent. We will keep you informed of conditions. You can also check the surf forecast here.
How to Book A Surf Lesson?
To book a Lesson just send us a message on any social media platform or give us a call. we will fit a Surf lesson in at your convenience. Walk in are accepted put prebooking is preferred.
Once you have booked just come meet us at the shop at the scheduled time. Then we will go surfing!
Where do we do Our Surf Lessons?
We go surfing at several different spots along the beach here in Danang all of which are very close to our shop.
Depending on the conditions we will pick the best spot for you to learn and have fun. check the surf forecast here.
We will transport you from the shop to the beach and back to the shop.
In What Languages Can I Learn to Surf?
At LST we have Many different instructors, and between them we have lessons available in English, Vietnamese, Chinese, French, and Korean.
We have the only Chinese speaking coach in town.
